Forschungsgebiet: Schlaf und Entwicklung

Meine Forschung verfolgt das Ziel, die Rolle des Schlafs für die Hirnentwicklung und die langfristige Gesundheit des Gehirns zu verstehen. Im Zentrum steht das dynamische Zusammenspiel von Schlaf, neuronaler Plastizität und Entwicklung – von der Kindheit bis ins Erwachsenenalter. Um diese Prozesse zu untersuchen, entwickle und nutze ich modernste Technologien zur Erfassung und gezielten Modulation von Hirnaktivität, darunter High-Density-EEG, Magnetresonanztomographie sowie neuromodulatorische Verfahren wie Closed-Loop-Auditorische Stimulation und Temporal-Interference-Stimulation. Langfristig soll diese Forschung dazu beitragen, die Mechanismen des Schlafs besser zu verstehen und neue Wege zur Behandlung neurologischer und psychiatrischer Erkrankungen zu eröffnen.
