We investigate how the brain of children and adolescents changes during the development. We are interested in structural changes of the brain, as well as in the development of brain processes and mechanisms that characterize our perception, thinking, emotions, learning, as well as language and literacy skills.
We are particularly interested in the specific characteristics of these brain networks in children and adolescents with developmental learning disorders, such as dyslexia, or psychiatric disorders, such as depression or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
To this end, we use various child-friendly neuroimaging methods and develop approaches to derive new evidence from neurobiological, cognitive, clinical, genetic and environmental information.
