Within our research focus on psychiatric disorders in childhood and adolescence, we investigate the specific characteristics of the brain in certain cognitive functions and in the processing of language and emotions.
We are interested in the healthy development of specific functional brain networks during childhood and adolescence, particularly in relation to gender identity, and changes in the anatomy and function of brain networks in relation to psychiatric problems. We are also investigating the extent to which neuroscientific training methods, such as neurofeedback, can influence the function of affected networks and thereby improve symptoms in affective disorders.
Our methods include a wide range of child-friendly neuropsychological and neuroscientific approaches to characterise brain anatomy and reveal the functions of brain networks.
